THE WANDERINGS

Thessaloniki International Art Festival 2018

‘Yakumo Koizumi: Where Clouds Are Born’, a group exhibition by 15 international artists responding to the writings of Lefcadio Hearn (1850 - 1904) commissioned and curated by Maria Papatzalou. Hearn was a writer of Greek origins and Irish roots, who finally settled in Japan. He recorded his observations of Japanese life, culture, and religion collecting myths legends and ghost stories. Here, three tales of trauma, death, and the afterlife reveal notions of time, timelessness and repetition across generations.
