WAS IST DIESE ARBEIT? 2018
WAS IST DIESE ARBEIT? asks the question - what is this work? These three short films, played on a loop were originally projected onto the back of three old, charred black glass cabinets, forming an installation. The title refers to Freud's notion of Traumarbeit (dream-work) and repetition. The tasks being undertaken are seemingly futile, repetitive and never ending. It also brings to mind the words forming an iron arch above the entrance to Auschwitz, "ARBEIT MACHT FREI" (work sets you free).
