LAST NIGHT THE STONES DREAMT OF THEIR MOTHER.
A one day group exhibition TRACES curated by the artist collective NOMER, in Tower Hamlets Cemetery.
My proposal described a mountain landscape created with the lightest white net suspended from clouds of helium balloons - to create the dreamt of mountains from which the grave stones were hewn - their mother. The heavy rain and change in atmospheric pressure caused the balloons to drop - they no longer could carry the weight of the fabric. But the result was a rather beautiful ghostly hovering cloud, rising and falling above the gravestones.
